How can I help you?

 

I can assess your symptoms and make a diagnosis

 

I can prescribe appropriate medications to control or cure your symptoms

 

I can give you appropriate advice (including written advice) regarding your condition to aid treatment and ease or settle your symptoms

 

I can inject any joints that require injection to ease your joint pain and /or swelling.

What to expect in a consultation?

   

I will listen to your symptoms, ask some additional questions, examine you and then discuss the diagnosis, investigation and treatment plan.

 

Regarding the examination, I will need to examine all of the joint areas giving you pain, stiffness, tenderness or are swollen.

 

I may need to examine your heart, lungs, abdomen or neurological system. 

I treat the following diseases:
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Reactive Arthritis

  • Psoriatic Arthritis

  • Scleroderma

  • Sjogren's Syndrome

  • Myositis (including Polymyositis or Dermatomyositis)

  • Osteoporosis

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Soft Tissue Rheumatism

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Tennis Elbow

  • Golfer's Elbow

  • Plantar Fascitis

  • Achilles Tendinitis

  • Back or Neck pain

  • Vertebral Disc Prolapse

  • Shoulder Pain

  • Ankylosing Spondylitis (including when associated with Inflammatory Bowel Disease)

  • Gout (often of the big toe) & Pseudo Gout (often of the knee or wrist)

  • Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (also called SLE or Lupus)

 

There are at least 200 differant conditions that can cause joint systems.

Referrals:

 

I accept referrals from:

  • General Practitioners

  • Other Consultants

  • Other professionals such as Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Chiropractors and Ostoepaths

 

I accept private patients (self‐pay) and those referred via insurance companies

 

I do not undertake medico‐legal work 

Symptoms I treat: 

 

  • Joint pain

  • Joint stiffness

  • Joint swelling

  • Back. Neck pain +/- stiffness

  • Muscle pain +/- stiffness

  • Sciatica or shooting or burning pains down arms or legs

  • Pins and needles (or numbness) in hands / fingers or feet

  • Fatigue with muscle / joint tenderness, poor sleep and exhaustion

  • High levels of inflammation and immune activity

  • Headache with scalp tenderness (associated with fatigue, muscle aching and stiffness)

  • Back pain related to osteoporosis and fractures
